The Finnish School of San Diego

I have worked as a teacher in the Finnish School of San Diego for ten years. My main priority in classes is that the students have fun. My hobbies include outdoor activities, cycling and various board games with my family and with my friends.

I have Master of Education and my major was educational psychology. I did also pedagogical studies. I have worked as a kindergarten teacher, reading assistant teacher, middle school teacher and adult educator. My hobbies include kick boxing, tennis, gym and walking in nature.

I have a Master Degree of Elementary Education and Teaching as well as Bachelor Degrees of Early Childhood Education and Mathematics. I have been teaching grades 1-6 in Finland over 10 years. I also have experience from Finnish Language School of Vancouver and Independent Finnish Language Tutoring here in San Diego. I enjoy multiple physical activities especially hiking in the beautiful nature. Finnish Language Arts and Math Problems have a special place in my mind.

About Us

Check out our Kulkuri Groups!
We are looking forward to seeing you at school!

You can join all year around! In the Finnish School of San Diego, children are taught Finnish language. School aims to preserve the language and culture contact by teaching and nurturing Finnish skills and familiarizing children the culture and traditions of Finland.

We have students from preschool age to middle school age. Children are divided into groups mainly based on age but also based on their skills. It is now possible to study Finnish language in accordance with the Finnish curriculum in Kulkuri Groups.

We have been operating officially since 1998. "San Diegon Suomi-Koulu" is a non-profit organization that receives aid from the Finnish National Board of Education. Donations are always welcome! We finance our operations also with events. Check out our calendar and welcome!
